HMS Duke of York Launched : 28th February 1940 HMS Duke of York was built at Clydebank and launched of the 28th January 1940, she served most of world war two in the home fleet, (1940 to 1945) serving with the Murmansk Convoys and also took part in the sinking of the Scharnhorst on 26th December 1943. In August 1945 she was transferred to the Pacific to operate against the Japanese. She entered the reserve fleet in 1949 and was scrapped at Faslane, Scotland on the 18th February 1958.
