![]() ![]() Wing Commander Douglas Hunt (deceased) *Signature Value : £45 | Originally an aero engine fitter, he became a pilot late in 1938 and coverted to Spitfires with No.66 Sqn at the end of 1939. He claimed an He111 in January and flew in operations over Dunkirk. He baled out over France, becoming one of those evacuated from the beaches in a destroyer. Returning to action, he claimed aircraft damaged and shared, plus one He111 destroyed on 15th September. He became an instructor and remained with the RAF until retirement in 1958. He died in 1997. |
