Commander Christopher Dreyer DSO DSC* (deceased)
*Signature Value : £50

Born in 1918, he was one of the Dreyer family who left a significant legacy in the Royal Navy. His brother was Admiral Sir Frederic Dreyer and his cousin was Admiral Sir Desmond Dreyer. Christopher Dreyer was in command of the famed Motor Torpedo Boat MTB102 at the evacuation of Dunkirk. After the sinking of destroyer HMS Keith, the Admiral's Flag of Rear Admiral William Wake Walker was transferred to MTB102, likely the smallest vessel to carry such an honour. During the war he was awarded the Distinguished Service Order and Distinguished Service Cross with a Bar. He later joined Vosper, the company which had built MTB102, becoming chairman of their Far East operations. He died on 24th June 2003.
