Captain H A Kidd DSO DSC*
He was the Engineering Officer aboard Royal Navy submarine HMS Torbay in 1941 and took part in Operation Flipper, landing Commandos behind enemy lines in North Africa for the ill-fated attempt to assassinate General Erwin Rommel. Our sources show us that he was alive in 1986, the 45th anniversary of Operation Flipper, but we have no further information.

Clipped Signature - H A Kidd. Kidd was the Engineering Officer aboard Royal Navy submarine HMS Torbay in 1941 and took part in Operation Flipper, landing Commandos behind enemy lines in North Africa for the ill-fated attempt to assassinate General Erwin Rommel. He later earned the rank of Captain and was awarded the Distinguished Service Order and Distinguished Service Cross and Bar. Please note that this particular signature has been written in pen - not in pencil like most of our signatures. |
