Edward Ted Rimmer
Edward Ted Rimmer was born at Southport in Lancashire on 10th September 1898. At the age of 18 he joined the King's Own Liverpool Regiment and served in the 6th Battalion at Arras, during the Somme and Third Ypres campaigns at Passchendaele. Later, he fought in the decisive battle at Amiens. He was demobilised in 1919 and after various jobs joined the Liverpool Police Force in 1922, serving there throughout the bombing raids of the Second World War and retiring in 1951. Amongst his many pursuits he became Captain of the Liverpool Golf Club and a member of the select Hole-in-One Group. He celebrated his 100th birthday at a Great War reunion in 1998. He died on 30th September 2001.

Clipped Signature - Ted Rimmer. Born in 1898, he joined the King's Own Liverpool Regiment at the age of 18. He served at Arras, the Somme, Third Ypres, Passchendaele and Amiens with the 6th Battalion. Post-war he joined the Liverpool Police Force, serving there throughout World War Two. He died in 2001 aged 103. Please note that this particular signature has been written in pen - not in pencil like most of our signatures. |
