Petty Officer Alan Cowley
Served in the Royal Navy as an Electrical Mechanic 4th Class. He served aboard HMS Charybdis in Operation Pedestal on the Malta Convoys. After survival from Charybdis he served in various shore establishments as support for Motor Launches, MGBs and NID boats with Commandos and USA PT boats. He also served in submarine depot ship HMS Forth, 1st and 8th Flotilla MT boats, Naval Party 1711 for landings in France and Ostend.
