Captain D W Napper CBE
Captain Napper entered the Royal Navy on 1st May 1936. He served aboard the ships HMS Gloucester, HMS Havock, HMS Valiant, HMS Ilex, HMS Calpe, HMS Walker and HMS Cygnet in World War Two. He fought in the Battle of Cape Matapan and was promoted to Sub Lieutenant on 16th April 1942, then to Lieutenant on 16th August 1943. Awarded the MBE in 1946, his post-war appointments were HMS Swiftsure, HMS Eagle and HMS Superb as Lieutenant Commander. Then from 1957 as Commander, HMS Carron, HMS Roebuck, HMS Excellent and HMS Lincoln until promotion to Captain in 1963. Among senior positions he took command of HMS Rhyl and HMS Ganges, retiring in 1973.

Clipped Signature - D W Napper. Joined the Royal Navy in 1936 and served on ships including HMS Valiant and HMS Cygnet in World War Two. He was aboard HMS Havock at the Battle of Cape Matapan and was mentioned in despatches. Post war he made the rank of Captain and was in command of ships including HMS Rhyl and HMS Ganges, retiring in 1973.
